WSL World Championship Tour Competitor and Olympian
Matt absorbs all of the information at thecontest, which then helps me focus on what I need to do, and puts me in the right mindset. He helped me reach my dream of qualifying for the WCT. Plus, its super fun hanging out with the MSM crew, there’s always good vibes and we are there to support each other.”
WSL Challenger Series Competitor & 2022 CS Saquarema Pro Champion.
Matt’s so in tune with so many different parts of competition and surfing. The conditions, where the best waves are coming, your equipment, heat strategy, mental state, and making it all simple so you don’t have too much in your head going out there.
WSL Challenger Series Competitor
Matt has changed my whole mindset about competing. Throughout 2021-2022 he showed me my true potential, while surfing against the best surfers in the world.
WSL World Championship Tour Competitor and Olympian
I have worked with Matt Myers since I was 13 years old and he has been such a big part of my life and getting me to where I am today. His dedication to his athletes is like no other. Already being an incredible surfer, and experienced with competition, Matt connects with his athletes on a deeper, and more insightful level. Combine that with having a calm, caring, passionate presence, and perspective on life, he brings the perfect balance. While Matt focuses on working inward to find the competitor, drive, and passions, he has such a gift of helping athletes be able to embrace their own journey, and path in and out of the water.”

Matt has been such a pleasure to work with. He is a longtime friend, and mentor to me. I’ve felt major growth since I’ve started working with him and the success has shown. Matt’s easy to be around, his coaching style is fun, and he knows his stuff.
Parent of Luke Wyler (17-year-old junior competitor)
As the parent of a 17-year-old surfer who has been working with Matt for 7 years now, I have a deep appreciation for his many talents and qualities as a coach and mentor. There’s no one whom I would rather entrust the mentorship, development, support and guidance of a surfer from being a young unsponsored grom, through his adolescence and amateur surf career, and now into a young professional competitor. Having worked with a number of other great coaches, I will also share how rare it is to find someone who has combined expertise in both improving the surfer’s abilities AND success in competition. Coaches usually fall into one of those two buckets, but Matt is great at both. Everything from preparation, reading line ups, understanding scoring, priority tactics, energy and emotional state management, and the many other dynamics that are involved in performance is covered when working with him.
